Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

Overview:

Responsibilities:

• Assist with procedures, providing diagnostic scans
• Prepare and position patients, selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications that are within scope of practice
• Observe patient during procedure, being aware to report abnormal activity on the spot
• Monitor protocols
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, following ALARA
• Perform specialized imaging procedures such as but not limited to angio, complex vascular/nonvascular interventional, and therapeutic procedures
• Scrub monitor, and circulate diagnostic and interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology procedures
• Assist the Radiologist, PA, and Cardiologist

Qualifications:

• AHA BLS
• One or more of the following are required:

–  Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

–  Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

– High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required
